Reducing our Carbon Footprint.

Working together for a sustainable future
Andy Swan Driver Services has made the switch to HVO fuel to reduce emissions and work towards a sustainable future.
The focus of many companies is currently on reducing carbon footprint and working in the greenest way possible.
Andy and the team have been working closely with transport companies in and around the North-West to understand how they’re working towards this and how Andy Swan Driver Services, as an HGV training school, can assist.

HVO (Hydrotreated vegetable oil) is a biofuel made by the hydrocracking or hydrogenation of vegetable oil. These methods can be used to create substitutes for diesel.
Diesel fuel produced from these sources is known as green diesel or renewable diesel.
Alternative fuel supply
We have listened to feedback from people coming through their programmes who were concerned about carbon footprint.
Having spent some months investigating our options and working closely with Certas Energy, we have taken a commitment to their alternative fuel supply of HVO.
This shows that we are continually committed to improving our carbon footprint. Although we are a small company, we are trying our best to listen to both corporate and private clients to support their values.
Some of the benefits of using HVO fuel include:
- Significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions on combustion
- Reduces particulate matter by up to 42%
- Reduces net CO2 greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%
- Reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) by 30%
- Resists the attack of diesel bugs and water contamination
